It is expensive to heat a home with a stove?
It works out three times more economical than electricity. And taking into account the cost of an electrical power agreement, it is even more viable. Wood-burning heating stoves created by Furnace Art Engineering pay for themselves on the basis of their economic usage over a period of 5 years. Calculation of costs are detailed in the 'Get a Stove for your Home’ article.

How long will a heating stove last?
Typical heating stoves last for about 5 years before needing repair work or a major overhaul. Our heating stoves have a life cycle of over 20 years thanks to our engineering approach as well as high quality materials and craftsmanship. We offer the most competitive price per year of exploitation.
What size stove do I need for my home?
To answer this question, you need to carry out heat transfer calculations. The stove's task is to compensate your property's heat loss and this depends on its construction and on seasonal temperature fluctuations in the area where you live. Our engineers would be happy to carry out the necessary calculations on your behalf. Call us to find out how we can help.
How long will the stove warm the house for?
On one armful of logs, the stove will heat a living room for up to between 12 - 72 hours. Used on the standard setting, the stove will evenly heat the house for twenty-four hours. Our stoves are also fitted with a turbo function, thanks to which, the air temperature in a cold house can quickly be brought up to comfortable room temperature. A description of the heating mode can be found on our Heating Stoves page and in our blog article 'Get a Stove for your Home'.
What is the best kind of heating stove to install in a country house?
An authentic masonry stove because of the huge advantages this kind of stove offers. All the best reasons for choosing a Russian or a Dutch-style stove are listed on our Heating Stoves page.
How often do I need to heat the stove?

In autumn or in a mild winter, once every two days, and in a typical winter, once a day. In severe minus temperatures, you might need to feed the fire with an extra armful of logs. You can find out more precisely by examining the structure and usual heat loss of your home and then carrying out a heat transfer analysis to determine the right stove capacity for you.

Will I have to heat the stove for a long time for it to keep the house warm in winter?
If the house is cold or even freezing, the stove will need two to three bundles of firewood to heat up, which will take about two hours to burn. Warmth evenly disperses throughout the stove whilst the stove is being heated. Once the surface areas have warmed through, the stove starts to give out heat into the room. Don't have time to wait? Stoves made by Furnace Art Engineering are fitted with a turbo function, thanks to which the air in your home can quickly be brought up to comfortable room temperature.
What stove should I choose, Russian or Dutch?
We can provide you with a stove that functions both like a Russian and a Dutch stove. Alternatively, we can make two separate stoves. The Dutch stove is better suited to heating purposes, whereas the Russian stove has greater functionality as it can be used for cooking too and even for sleeping on - a true delight.  For a fuller comparison of stove types, see our Heating Stoves page.
What is better, a stove or a fireplace?
When it comes to heating your home, an authentic masonry stove has no competition. If you equip the stove with glass-fitted doors, you can take advantage of all the benefits of a fireplace and sit and watch the dancing flames. Certain interiors however only lend themselves to a fireplace which weighs significantly less. Don’t hesitate to consult our engineers for more information.
Do you make heating stoves with a glass front like in a fireplace?
Of course. You can sit and enjoy the dancing flames.
What is the temperature of the stove surface?

60°c maximum - safe for children and pets.

What makes it so comfortable and cosy to sit beside my stone stove?
The stove's large, heated stone mass heats the room with what is a predominantly radiant heat, warming the walls, floor, ceiling and the human body directly. The stove does not warm the air in the room, which is why it's so comfortable to breathe in a room with one of our stone heating stoves - no dry air. Convection and air movement is reduced to a minimum and the heat emission is uniform. The stove loves you, that's why it's so cosy in your home.
Will the stove dry out the air in the room?
A masonry heating stove is made from ceramic bricks, not metal elements, so it won't dry out the air in your home. Due to its capacity to accumulate and release moisture, the stove will keep the humidity level in your home at an optimal level. For more information, see our Heating Stoves page.
Can I use a heating stove in combination with radiators?
Yes. A masonry heating stove is silent, economical, controls humidity levels in the home and ventilates the room.
How is a stove better than radiators?
A masonry heating stove is twice as efficient, holds heat for longer, supports optimal humidity in the home and ventilates the premises independently of other ventilation systems. If background noise keeps you awake at night, like rustling in pipes and radiators and the click of your thermostat, then a totally silent stove is the perfect choice for you.
